Do I need to provide anything?

A few cleaning products and supplies would be appreciated - nothing specific we can use whatever you have in. As for storage bins, baskets, shelves and so on - please don’t buy anything beforehand. We’ll chat through what you need once we know what’s staying. It’s very common to find once decluttered you have ample storage anyway.

Do you work with pets?

Yes - I adore animals! As long as they’re friendly and comfortable with a visitor in the house, they’re very welcome to potter around while I work. Just be aware I may be popping in and out to the bin, so if your pet is an escape artist, a closed door or stair gate is helpful.

What about children being home?

It’s usually easiest to work when children aren’t around (unless we’re working in their room). That said, I totally understand that children may be at home.

What if I feel embarrassed about the state of my house?

Please don’t worry. Honestly - I’ve seen it all, and nothing fazes me. Life gets busy. Homes get cluttered. Your not being judged - you’re been helped. I’m here to support, not to criticise.

Do I need to be there while you’re organising?

Yes - at least at the start - once we have a clear plan of what’s to keep, donate etc you’re welcome to carry on helping, stay and chat, or do something else.

Can we declutter my partners things when they’re not here?

To a degree, yes - with permission. For example, we can usually agree on letting go of anything with rips or   holes in, and better organise their space. I never encourage sneaky chuck-outs - it’s always best to be respectful. Once they see how fabulous your wardrobe looks, they’ll likely be keen to have theirs done too!

Do you take things to the charity shop?

Yes - one car load per session providing I can park near your home. Items must be clean and in good condition. I can help you plan how to get unwanted furniture collected or removed.

What about rubbish?

You’re in charge of rubbish removal, but I’ll sort out what goes where, bag things up and put them in your appropriate wheelie bin.

Is everything confidential?

What we discuss and what I see stays between us. Before each session I let my husband know where I am going, who I am seeing, and when I expect to be home.
